Democratization of change management

Interview by Hermsen, Millenaar, Van der Veer & Van Vliet (2024/2018)

In 2018 four established consultants and change experts in their (late) thirties came to interview me for the Dutch national magazine for management consultants. (The Netherlands seems to have the highest density of such consultants in the world, by the way). They were looking for a good conversation about change as profession, democratization of change agents, professional standards and how to evaluate your own performance honestly.

I found it a refreshing and open discussion and was happy to see they could turn it into a text for the magazine that was easy to read. It reads more like an interview than it actually was, the lessened their own contributions to allow more of my words to find the readers. Charming.

In 2024 Theo Hermsen translated it in English, to be used in international settings. I recently found that out, so share it now here too without any edits on my part.
