The Academy of Management Annual Meeting takes place in Boston this year between August 3-7. Its always quite an event with over ten thousand (yes, that’s no typo) of management scholars and scholar/practitioners congregating over a five day period doing workshops, exchanging papers, catching up, discussing new trends and so on. Disorienting and worthwhile at the same time. This year the program theme is ‘the informal economy’ but know that lots of papers don’t necessarily adress that. I just got news that the Organizational Development and Change Division and the Management Consultancy Division have both accepted a symposium proposal on teachings experienced change agents by Barbara Bunker, David Jamieson, Leon de Caluwe, Hubert Lobnig, Marc Thompson and myself.
