Buono, Jamieson and Barnett have launched a new volume in the ‘Research in management consulting’ series. They delve into consultation methods for consulting change: revisiting as the title suggests after 6 years. It includes a wide range of contributions ranging from ‘consulting in the moment’ to ‘dealing with polarities’. The volume has three sections: one focusses on the process of organizational change, one on the use of self and one on skills and methods. They include authors such as Chris Worley, Robert Marshak and Susan Mohrman.
I was able to contribute two chapters as well:
- A chapter on the use of causal loop diagrams to deal with complex issues (in the method section) going into both the technical and interventionist dimension of using such diagrams well.
- A chapter together with Leon de Caluwe on knowing yourself as change agent aided by an instrument like the color test (in the use of self section).
