Academy of Management Summer Conference

The 73rd Academy of Management Annual Meeting takes place in Orlando between August 9-13 in 2013. It’s always quite an event with over ten thousand (yes, that’s not a typo) of management scholars and scholar/practitioners congregating over a five day period doing workshops, exchanging papers, catching up, discussing new trends and so on. Disorienting and worthwhile at the same time. This year the program theme is ‘capitalism in question’ but know that most papers don’t necessarily adress that. Nevertheless is it interesting a critical view of our field is increasingly sought and God knows we need it. Many people will present their materials and can be met there. This year they have also added on a 1 day ‘teaching and learning’ conference’ on August 11th.

I have just found out they have also accepted my three submissions. So I will present a paper on ‘Planning deep change through a series of small wins’ which will receive an award as best action research paper at the Academy of Management Annual Conference in 2013 by the Organization Development & Change Division. You can already download the paper here . I will also present two professional development workshops. One will be with Leon de Caluwe on ‘Learning to work with multiple perspectives on change’. Another will be with Danielle Zandee, Frank Barret and Cliff Oswick: ‘Appreciative Inquiry 2.0? Translating AI principles into contrasting designs’.
